Acoustic and thermal insulation: basalt and glass fiber combined non-woven mat is especially efficient for acoustic insulation: basalt fiber is efficient in absorbing middle and higher frequency (2-5 MgHz) sounds, while glass fiber absorbs lower frequency sounds, therefore our combined mat has a wider frequency coverage properties (0.5-5).

Concrete reinforcement:
Basalt fiber is resistant to alkaline environment like AR Glass is, therefore number of international research (V. B. Brik: Advanced Concept Concrete Using Basalt Fiber Composite Rebar Reinforcement, Transportation Research Board The National Academies; V. Ramakrishnan, Performance Evaluation of 3-DBasalt Fiber Reinforced Concrete&Basalt Rod Reinforced Concrete; National Research Council) show efficiency of basalt fiber in reinforcement of concrete.
   
High tex (4800 tex) basalt fiber is successfully used in modern systems of car exhaustion systems. To be used for this purposes glass fiber requires chemical binders, which disintegrate in high temperatures and are dangerous for health. Chopped basalt fiber does not require such binders and therefore is environmentally safe. Toyota was first to introduce basalt fiber for this purposes.
Basalt non-wovens are used in car cabins for acoustic and thermal insulation.

Basalt fiber has absorbs low quantity of water and is resistant to alkaline environment. These qualities make it effective in applying for ship insulation and yacht composite parts reinforcement. Basalt fiber operates at (-260°C)...(+850°C) temperature limits which is vital for aircraft industry, as the aircrafts operate in the environment where temperature changes significantly.

Basalt fiber is resistant to acid and alkaline environment. Abilities to work in high temperatures makes basalt non-wovens and fabrics efficient for applying in insulation and filtration in extreme conditions. Examples of successful application basalt non-wovens at high temperatures prove their efficiency at up to (+850°C).
